Federal Solar Incentives
No federal tax credit is available to Canadian homeowners for residential solar in 2026. The federal Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit is limited to taxable Canadian corporations and REIT mutual fund trusts, and applies only to business and commercial systems. The Canada Greener Homes Grant is closed. The Canada Greener Homes Loan stopped accepting new applications on 1 October 2025.
Clean Technology ITC (Business only)
The federal Investment Tax Credit is available only to a taxable Canadian corporation, or a mutual fund trust that is a real estate investment trust, including such entities that are members of a partnership. Individual homeowners cannot claim it.

Accelerated CCA (Business)
Incorporated businesses may claim accelerated Capital Cost Allowance on eligible clean-energy equipment under Class 43.1/43.2.
